WiseConsumer

Accessibility statement

Everyone should be able to read a review and follow a link. Here is what we do about it, and how to tell us when it fails.

Effective Sep 3, 2026

Our commitment

WiseConsumer is designed and built to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA, the standard referenced by the Americans with Disabilities Act and Section 508. Accessibility is part of how we build every page, not a plug-in added afterwards.

What we do

  • Structure. Pages use real headings, landmarks, lists and tables so screen readers can navigate them, and every page has one clear title.
  • Keyboard. Everything you can click you can reach with the Tab key, in a sensible order, with a visible focus ring. Menus close with Escape.
  • Text and contrast. Body text is at least 16px, resizes with your browser settings, and meets the 4.5:1 contrast ratio against its background. Information is never carried by color alone; scores are shown as numbers as well as bars.
  • Images. Product photos and logos carry descriptive alternative text. Decorative graphics are hidden from assistive technology.
  • Forms. Every field has a visible label, errors are announced in text next to the field, and nothing times out.
  • Motion. The site has a few small animations. If your device is set to reduce motion, they are switched off.
  • Search and skip. Site search works from every page and the layout is readable at 400% zoom on a phone-sized screen.

Known limitations

  • Some product photos come from the brand and their alternative text describes the product rather than every visual detail.
  • Embedded videos from third parties may not include captions; we link to the source where captions exist.
  • Landing pages built for brand partners are checked before publication, but they are authored separately and may lag behind the main site.

Assistive technology we test with

We check new pages with VoiceOver on macOS and iOS, keyboard-only navigation, browser zoom, and automated audits (axe and Lighthouse). Our targets are current versions of Safari, Chrome, Firefox and Edge.

Tell us when something is in the way

If you hit a barrier on any page, write to hello@wiseconsumer.com with the page address and what happened. We reply within five business days, fix confirmed problems as a priority, and will give you the content in another format in the meantime if you need it.

Formal complaints

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the U.S. Department of Justice Civil Rights Division at ada.gov. We would rather hear from you first and fix it.
